Through the camera lens, I bring life to that which has been overlooked. Challenging the mainstream views of normality and walking the fine line between the typical and the absurd, to show the delicate nature that is present where rules and regularity are not. Texture, color and abstraction are all encompassed in my photographs. They are combined to show our intricate relationship with the world we live in. Through Film, Polaroid, encaustic and digital techniques, I create depth and feeling.
As an artist, I have dabbled in glass-working, sculpture, oil painting and jewelry making, finally landing in photography and falling in love with it. The hands on methods of film developing and darkroom printing instantly drew me in and as digital methods became more popular I embraced these new techniques. I was able to weave my love of fine art into my process by adding encaustics and oils to photographs and working with found objects to create one-of-a-kind works.
